Disclaimer

I am voluntarily wishing to experience a session of therapeutic massage by Becky Hudgins, CMT.

I understand that massage therapists do not diagnose illness, prescribe medications or make spinal adjustments.

I further understand that massage is not a substitute for medical care or treatment.

I have alerted my therapist to any conditions I have which may affect the work and have disclosed all medications (herbal or pharmaceutical) that I am currently taking. I further agree to update my practitioner to any changes in my mental, emotional or physical health.

I am seeking therapeutic massage of my own accord for the purposes that massage is intended. Such purposes include but not limited to relaxation, mental wellness, relief of tension of sore muscles, improved circulation and/or improved range of motion.

I understand that if there is any inappropriate behavior (sexual advances or sexual talk) the massage will be terminated and must be paid in full.

Benefits of Massage

More than just a luxury!

  • Reduction of stress: mental and physical
  • Enhanced circulation: cardiovascular and lymphatic
  • Improved joint and muscle function and flexibility
  • Treatment of injuries and chronic pain
  • Enhanced athletic performance
  • Improved posture and prevention of new injuries
  • Improved energy levels and clarity of thought
  • Increased body awareness and quieting of mind

At the very least, your body needs regular maintenance. Massage can help keep you going and stay healthy in this era of high stress.

After A Massage

It is important to drink a lot of water after a massage. Massage helps to push toxins out of your muscles and into your lymphatic system to be removed as waste. Drinking water after a massage helps in flushing the lymph system and the removal of these toxins. Remember it is essential to drink adequate amounts of water at all times, not just after a massage.

Most people feel relaxed and refreshed after a massage. Occasionally some people experience post massage soreness the day after. This is nothing to worry about. Most people feel a great reduction of their original muscle tightness and pain after the delayed soreness resolves itself.
